Summers on the Outer Banks are a bit intense for the locals. Whether you are a business owner, a seasonal worker or year rounder the amount of stress and work it takes to accommodate the number of visitors to our island is mind boggling. Some of us wake up at 5am to serve breakfast until 2pm then you are off to your night job where you will sling drinks until 2am. After your coffee has worn off you ask yourself, "have I eaten day?" "No? Damn, not again!" And we roll on running off the calories from the sugar in our latte until we have a chance to inhale the piece of buttered bread you stole out of the bread station at work. Legit y'all - us folks on the Outer Banks work our bootys off.
Needless to say, our bodies suffer for the benefit of our bank accounts. When we only have four months of the year to make it through all 12 - we do what we have to do.

I have been juicing since 2012 and have found that my body responds remarkably when I drink one fresh juice once a day. And after about a week I start noticing my digestive track working better, my energy levels are higher, I eat better throughout the day, my waistline gets smaller and my thought process is clearer. I know some folks who do not like to "drink their food" but when you think about how many raw fruits and veggies you need to consume to receive the same amount of nutrients it is discouraging.
